Camping in the UK

Camping seems to be getting increasingly popular. Probably because many people need a holiday as the economy is providing them with so much stress but they have no money to afford to do anything but camp. However, camp sites can be nice places to stay at, make friends and have a relaxing holiday.

There are a great many locations where you can camp. There are holiday parks, coastal places, countryside and farm areas and many other locations as well. Rather than trying to find a camp site it is best to pick a location and you will be bound to find a camp site nearby.

It is a good idea to be well prepared for the UK weather. Take sleeping bags or warm duvets and plenty of layers because it does tend to feel very cold when you are camping. It is easy to take off layers but hard to keep warm when you run out. It is also a good idea to share a tent with someone as it is a great way to keep warm.

It is also worth thinking about what you will do if it rains. Where you will store damp shoes, coats and clothing and how you might get it dry if you need to. It is worth making sure you pack wellington boots, rain macs, umbrellas and waterproof trousers if you have them.

You also need to be prepared for hot weather. It is likely that you will be spending a lot of time out of doors and so you will need sun block and insect repellent. You may also want after sun lotion and  general moisturisers.

Remember to take things to do in the tent in case the weather is not good enough to go out –  books and games can be good fun.
