City Breaks in the UK

Often European city breaks are considered to be more cultured and romantic than taking a city break in the UK. However, there are plenty of cities in the UK to consider, some which have always had lots to do and others which are developing and changing. It is great to see how places have changed and there can be surprisingly a lot more to do than you might think, once you look in to it.

Most cities have a good selection of art galleries and museums and many are free to go in. Some exhibitions may charge extra and so it is worth checking this out before you go. There are also a great selection of buildings from different eras in most cities as well as statues and monuments and so if you are interested in architecture there should be a lot to keep you happy.

There are also tours in most cities these days, either walking tours or bus tours and these can be a great way to find out a lot about the place and where to go to find out more. It can be an enlightening way to see a city as you are likely to be introduced to places and hear stories that you may not have heard of before.

Cities can also be fantastic places for shopping. They have a much bigger selection of shops and will have much bigger shops too so there will be a much wider range of items available. So whether you are treating yourself to a new outfit or shopping for gifts, there will be plenty for you to choose from.

Another great thing about staying in the city is the public transport. It is much better than that in most towns and so you should be able to get around without using the car. This can make it feel much more like a holiday and take away some of the travel stress.
