For some people, skiing is life and waiting 6-9 months until the winter season is something they can’t do. For those who belong in this category, don’t worry. There are still a few places where you can go ski to your heart’s content every day of the year. And the great thing is you can do so on weekends or anytime you feel like it. For those who just want a place to escape to during the weekend and get a quick “jolt” pre, post and during the season, you may want to consider a short weekend ski break. Spend the Weekend in Chamonix in France

Chamonix is one of France’s more popular skiing destination and offers a wide variety of skiing slopes (there are 6 of them), has many skiing chalets and hotels available for short weekend breaks. With its incredibly steep terrains, even the most experienced ski enthusiast will get his adrenaline rush from skiing down the slopes.

If you’ll be going on Friday, be sure to book your flight ahead as there is often a high demand for flights into Chamonix on Friday evenings and out on Sunday evenings through Geneva. Getting a car for mobility’s sake is always a good idea too.

Enjoy the Weekend Skiing in Engelberg in Switzerland

Engelberg is also another perfect weekend skiing break destination. Located in Switzerland, the Titlis glacier’s slopes provide amazing skiing opportunity. What’s more, it’s available throughout the year. There are usually tour guides available to help you navigate the slopes and rocky terrains. But, if you feel that you can do it yourself, you’ll get jolts of adrenaline rush from both finding your way around the terrains and doing the ski runs all by yourself.

Please note that the do-it-yourself approach is not for beginner or amateur skiers. There’s plenty of skiing chalets and accommodation in the resort, so there’s no need to worry about where to stay. Getting to Engelberg will often include taking a flight to Zurich and then taking a 1-2 hour train ride or drive to the resort. A bit challenging maybe, but it’s totally worth it.

Morzine offers more ski runs than you know what to do with in a weekend, and this available all year round. With ski slopes in excess of 650km, you’ll never run out of what to do during the weekend. Be sure to book for your accommodation ahead of time. There are quite a few ski apartments in Morzine but they can soon get confusing owing to the fact that the town is quite big. That said, be sure to get to the town center and ask around for gondolas going to your favourite ski runs. The nearest airport is in Geneva. And from there, you can take a 1-2 hour drive to the town.
